.
Maddy Peng
Assistant Research Scientist

Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at Università di Pisa, now attending a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology at Università degli Studi di Trento. The interest in neurogenesis and neurodegeneration led her to the Boldrini Lab for her master’s thesis internship
Lucia Polizzi, M.S
Assistant Research Scientist

.
Victor Anosike
Assistant Research Scientist

Graduated with an MPH in Biostatistics from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. His interests include applying data science and statistical techniques to address real-world problems, with a focus on machine learning, as well as exploring genomic sequences to study gene regulation and disease mechanisms.
Tiancheng SHI, M.P.H
Assistant Research Scientist

Graduated with Chemistry and Master’s in Medical Laboratory Technology with experience in molecular techniques and stem cell protocols. Her previous work focused on assessing mitochondrial membrane potential in ethanol-induced toxicity in human neural precursor cells. She has now joined the Boldrini Lab to explore neurogenesis and neural plasticity in Psychiatric disorders.
Hannah Persis Jeyakumar, M.S
Assistant Research Scientist

Xinyue holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, with prior research focused on genomics and large-scale biological data analysis. She specializes in molecular biology and bioinformatics, and is particularly interested in the intersection of these fields. She is now working on applying multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics technologies to uncover molecular regulators and cellular lineages within the human hippocampal neurogenic niche, aiming to understand how neurogenesis and cell fate decisions differ between healthy aging and Alzheimer’s disease.
Xinyue Huang, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Ruchika joined the Boldrini Lab at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) in November 2025 as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 2022 from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), supported by the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship. Following her doctoral studies, she served as an Assistant Professor at Kyushu University, Japan, before joining at Columbia University Medical Center, NYC in 2023. Ruchika’s research interest mainly focus on RNA biology, gene expression regulation, and RNA sequencing technologies. Her study focused on RNA editing and splicing, exploring how these processes regulate gene expression and contribute to cellular function. At Boldrini Lab, she aims to uncover novel mechanisms of RNA regulation that contribute to brain function and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Ruchika, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Xi joined the Boldrini Lab at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) in January 2026 as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. She earned her Ph.D. in Zoology from Nankai University, where she studied the mechanisms of depression and schizophrenia using mouse models and a combination of behavioral and electrophysiological assays. She then trained in the Kristen Brennand Lab at Yale University, investigating cortisol-dependent transcriptomic effects of PTSD risk genes in hiPSC-derived astrocytes and microglia. At the Boldrini Lab, her work focuses on identifying dynamic, cell-type–specific convergence of genetic risk factors associated with psychiatric disorders.
Xi Xiao, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Jialin joined the Boldrini Lab at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) in January 2026 as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. He completed his M.D. and Ph.D. training in Orthopaedic Surgery, where his doctoral research examined the molecular mechanisms underlying intervertebral disc degeneration, with a focus on immune–stromal cell interactions and osteogenic differentiation. During this period, Jialin developed extensive experience in single-cell RNA sequencing, lineage tracing, flow cytometry, and molecular and histological techniques. In the Boldrini Lab, his current work focuses on characterizing non-neuronal niche and stromal cell populations in the brain, integrating single-cell and spatial transcriptomic approaches to understand their roles in tissue homeostasis and disease.
Jialin Jiang, M.D, Ph.D.
